Gallivantin' with Gough - October, 2005
It was a long hot Summer in Texas as usual. We had a few
projects that we should mention. Old friend and client,
Bob Hammack at New West Advertising in Oklahoma City,
revived my old "Good Guys in the White Hats" campaign
for a client of his in Norman, OK. We've been doing
spots for them on radio and TV.
It's great to be talking about the "Good Guys" again. I
had a call a couple months back from a lady back East
who travels around the country filming hunting trips for
terminally ill children. She's aligned with
The Texas Deer Association, a group of ranchers who
donate their ranches to these deserving kids so they can
experience shooting a deer. I narrated a short DVD for
the group that they will use to raise funds.
I got a call recently from my friends Strother Duffy
Strother in Washington, DC to do some political spots
for a couple of their accounts. I always enjoy working
for them, it's been an association I've enjoyed for
almost 10 years. Jim Duffy flew down here and we
recorded in my studio.
Another interesting project came up in Dallas recently.
I was called to do a narration for
The
Scottish Rite Children's Hospital. They are
producing a film about a large West Texas Ranch that has
been a major benefactor to the hospital for years. I've
been the 'voice' of
The Gaylord Texan Hotel near Dallas most of this
year. We've done several message on hold spots plus
television for special events.
On the music front, The Cosmopolitan Cowboys have been
playing dances at nearby
Del
Webb's Sun City Georgetown. We've played to
packed-house crowds and those folks are dancin' fools!
We are doing a gig for the Lago Vista Dance club in
October and will be back at Sun City in November. The
Gail Gough Trio is doing some gigs in December and
hopefully her new CD will be ready as well. Look for it
and Jim's new one on this site soon.
Gail is going to her High School reunion in far West
Texas in October. The Austin High group, Jim's class
will get together again next Spring.
With gasoline so high, we haven't taken the RV on the
road this year. May go to Houston to see son David's
family soon. The little Grandkids are growing like
weeds. The Holidays are just around the corner and Fall
is finally here in the Hill Country. We hope you and
yours are well and happy. Stay in touch.
